King Salmon

The King Salmon is also known as the Chinook. The King can range from 20-50 pounds. The King run starts in May and slows down the end of June. This is the largest of the Salmon, hence the name KING!

 

 

Silver Salmon

The Silver Salmon is also known as the Coho. The Coho is a challenge to catch as it can be easily spooked. However, it will give you a great fight. The average weight of the Silver/Coho can range from 8 to 15 pounds.

 

 

 

Red Salmon

The Red Salmon or Sockeye is said to be the best eating salmon. It has the reddest meat of all salmon.

 

 

 

Pink Salmon

The Pink Salmon/Humpy runs in even numbered years. They come in large numbers and are great for kids and adults alike to catch.

 

 

 

Chum Salmon

The Chum or Dog Salmon is often thought of as one of the least desirable salmon. However, it is one of the most sought after game fish of fly fishermen because of their aggressive striking habits and their shear strength. Chum usually range from 12-14 pounds.

 

 

 

Rainbow Trout

The Rainbow trout is a sport fish known for its aggressive strikes and fierce fights. It is often a favorite of fly fishermen. The average length of the Rainbow is between 12-24 inches.

 

 

 

Grayling

The grayling is an aggressive fighter. The large, dorsal fin is its distinctive trademark. Fresh grayling right out of the water is truly a tasty treat.

 

 

 

Pike

The Northern Pike is one of the most prehistoric fish in Alaska. There is no shortage of these fish. They are a "blast" on light tackle.
